Counseling in English in Bremen
Living abroad can be hard.
From communicating in a new language, to making friends, to considering staying “long-term”, life in a new country presents both organizational challenges and emotional ones. Whether you’re relatively new to Bremen or you’ve been living here for a while already, you may find yourself feeling a stressed, overwhelmed, anxious, or even just a little lost.
In times like these it can be helpful to talk with someone. In your session, we can talk about:
- Insecurity about speaking German
- Pressure to find a fulfilling job
- Future plans and decision-making
- Making social connections
- Balancing your life and Germany and in your home country
- And more…
If you’re tired of feeling like you have to figure it out alone, schedule an appointment today.
My approach
Hi, I’m Rebekah Cramer. I’m a systemic counselor, academic and career advisor and am at the end of my coursework to become a DGSF-certified systemic therapist (DGSF: German Association for Systemic Therapy, Counseling and Family Therapy). And I’m an international in Bremen myself.
Counseling is all about slowing down and taking a closer look. Together we can take time to reflect on what’s working well for you and identify where you could use a little support.
I work from a systemic counseling approach, which means:
- I believe my clients are the experts on their own lives and therefore find their past experiences and hopes for the future to be one of the most powerful components of our work.
- I understand my clients not only as individuals, but also as people who are influenced by and have an influence on others. We all exist in relationship to one another.
- I support my clients in honing the skills that they already have in order to create the life that works for them.

About systemic counseling
My counseling focuses on supporting clients in their personal development. It is not a replacement for clinical psychotherapy provided by a board-certified psychotherapist, which focuses on healing diagnosable mental illness.
The counseling methodology I use, systemic counseling, has been officially certified by the Scientific Advisory Board on Psychotherapy (Wissenschaftlicher Beirat Psychotherapie, WBP) as an effective and scientifically-proven form of counseling.
